About us
Join our team at the Center for the Transformation of Chemistry (CTC) as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computer Science (m/f/d), playing a crucial role developing high-performance recyclable 3D-shaped wood fiber materials. In cooperation with the CTC Data Management Team, you will have the opportunitiy to work side-by-side with wet lab researchers, streamlining data acquisition and analysis, while helping the team test best practice approaches to applying machine learning. The project will be carried out at the MPIKG campus in Golm, Potsdam, with prolongation perspectives in the CTC interim labs in Leuna.
Your tasks and qualifications
- Cooperate with the experimental scientists and the Data Management Team to streamline the data acquisition processes.
- Design and maintain ETL processes to pre-process and standardize the raw data
- Design and implement efficient and FAIR workflows and computational tools to extract information from the experimental data.
- Analyze and apply machine learning methods to guide DOE and material properties optimization
- Continuously optimize the data production pipeline, interacting with the experimental scientists.
Your profile
- PhD in Computer Science, Physics or related field.
- Experience in data engineering, data architecture and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data modeling, warehousing concepts, and governance frameworks.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Rust, Julia, Java, Scala, or C++.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
