About us

The Center for the Transformation of Chemistry (CTC) aims to reimagine the chemical industry as sustainable and resilient. Divided into 5 interconnected thematic areas; Automation & Standardization, Data-driven Chemistry, Recycling, Renewable Feedstocks, and Societal-Environmental-Economic Metrics (SEEM); the CTC has identified strong pillars to guide its scientific efforts towards the transformation of chemistry.

The CTC Science Team is currently planning multiple pilot projects and looking for ambitious people taking the lead.

As a Software Engineer (m/f/d) – Pilot Project Chemotion ELN module, you will play a pivotal role in a software development project in cooperation with a partner team at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and in collaboration with developers at the universities of Jena, Braunschweig, Halle and RWTH Aachen. The project will focus on the co-development of Chemotion, an Electronic Laboratory Notebook (ELN) tailored for chemistry and its deployment and maintenance at the CTC.

The successful candidate will be embedded in the Data Management Team of the CTC which strives to be an exemplar in data management in the context of the chemistry research community. The Data Team is deeply involved in all the CTC’s activities connected with the knowledge-generation process and aims at supporting the scientific community of the Center with state-of-the-art data handling solutions

As part of CTC’s Science team, you’ll be located in Leuna in the greater Leipzig/Halle area.
