The Center for the Transformation of Chemistry (CTC) is at the forefront of integrating interdisciplinary expertise to conduct cutting-edge chemistry with real life applications. The CTC recognizes that the diversity of its team, from support staff to department heads, with varied backgrounds educationally and culturally, is essential for success in its endeavors. While we are dedicated to ground-breaking fundamental research, we also aim to give our scientific staff the optimal conditions to grow, learn and thrive in pursuit of career goals whatever they may be. As part of our goals, we are seeking highly motivated Scientific Talent Managers (m/f/d) to join our team to plan optimal group and department sizes as well as define the expertise and expected tasks of the various roles at the CTC. In addition, you will oversee employee development opportunities, enhancing career prospects for CTC employees both during and after their tenure with us. You will work with research associates and scientists in the areas of: Automation & Standardization, Data-driven Chemistry, Recycling, Renewable Feedstocks, and Societal-Environmental-Economic Metrics. Located approximately 30 minutes from Leipzig and Halle (Saale) in Leuna, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in transforming chemistry.

Your tasks and qualifications

  • Definition, establishment and continuous development of a scientific and support staff concept (incl. development and implementation of a recruitment strategy).
  • Develop and implement policies for evaluation, feedback, and appointments at the CTC to promote continuous staff development and foster an innovative research environment.
  • Lead scouting and recruiting efforts to acquire top talent (ex. by participation in scientific conferences)
  • Work with PR team to increase visibility for potential candidates and promote scientists and their successes
  • Work with the Academy for Chemical Transformation (ACT) team to provide internal training opportunities and provide information for external offers

Your profile

  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in business administration or related STEM fields.
  • Experience in strategic personnel development planning and management
  • Proven experience in working in a scientific research environment and an understanding of subject-specific career challenges
  • High degree in personal responsibility and autonomy
  • Personal interest in scientific topics and first experiences in communicating with scientists
  • Experience with job placement for staff members into new jobs
  • Ideally international experience (study or work-related)
  • Good language skills in English and German
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
